I led the end-to-end design for Fox News’ first mobile apps. I collaborated with the Product team and created wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups and specs
Worked closely with News Corp leadership team in driving consensus and buy-in from Channel teams and all Exec board members

Users found the live updates banner very useful. General feedback and comments on interaction were positive

App Home
The App Home Screen design was critical and complex, as the editorial stakeholders requested to display at least 5 top stories, and a breaking news banner.
After several design explorations, we agreed to include strategy room and on demand under Top Stories section

I was responsible to design an embedded video screen that broadcasts real-time Fox News’ Strategy Room Updates. I worked closely with the cross-functional Channels team and collectively we figured out how the broadcast functionality would work within app.

KEY LEARNINGS
Hierarchy is King: Presenting key editorial content as part of top stories was critical. Although the app got great ratings (4.8 stars) on the App Store, there were areas under the top stories, and weather section that could use enhancements
Hiding Captions on Slideshows: Users found the slideshow captions useful. These were hidden and available only when users tapped on the screen (caption slides up on touch devices). As a team, we can provide a more elegant and intuitive solution
